Miracle at Sokolka: this is serious: priest

A church commission, examining the “miracle of Sokolka” in eastern Poland, has ruled out the involvement of third persons, implying that the event should not be seen as a hoax or a prank.

About a year ago, the holy host accidentally dropped by a priest during mass was placed in a special vessel with water.

The next day, it was discovered that the water had turned red and that the vessel contained a fragment of human heart tissue, instead of the host.

Two independent experts, professors of the Medical University in nearby Bialystok, confirmed the authenticity of the find.

The chancellor of the Bialystok curia Andrzej Kakareko says the commission established that no other persons had contact with the holy host.

“This event should be approached with great seriousness,” the priest told Polish Radio.

The documents concerning the event have been sent to the Vatican Nuncio in Warsaw, who will pass them over to the Vatican.
