This time, Madonna has upset a small group of Catholics in Poland who have denounced as blasphemous the singer’s plans to perform in Warsaw on August 15.
They’re unhappy because the date coincides with the Feast of the Assumption when Catholics believe the Virgin Mary ascended to Heaven.
It also happens to be Poland’s Armed Forces Day.
The former Polish President Lech Walesa appealed to concert organisers: “Please avoid any collision with my faith, especially during this extraordinary day for Poland.”
While the faithful pray for God to stand in the way of the concert, some hardliners believe he has already shown what he thinks of Madonna.
For them, the deadly collapse of a stage during the French leg of the star’s Sticky and Sweet tour was a sign of divine displeasure.
