Tension has mounted in Samsung Group after a priests' group has announced that they will disclose more details on the group's irregularities on Monday.
The Catholic Priests Association for Justice (CPAJ) said they will hold a second news conference on Nov. 5 to provide detailed evidence on allegations the conglomerate amassing a massive slush fund.
The association claimed that they were in possession of an inside report indicating how the conglomerate raised the money and how it was spent.
Members of the group said that they obtained the report from a lawyer, Kim Yong-chul, who served as the director of a legal department attached to the secretariat of the group's chairman.
But they decided not to release another inside document obtained from Kim, dubbed a 'guideline for lobbying' at Monday's news conference as they initially planned, a priest from the CPAJ said.
"Instead, it could be released through other civic groups if required,'' he added.
The guideline allegedly contains tips on how to offer bribes to prosecutors and other high-profile figures.
In an interview with local news media Kim said that he had handed over a list of prosecutors who allegedly received bribes from the conglomerate to the Catholic group along with other documents related to bribery.
"I used to offer bribes on a regular basis to prosecutors myself or through other officials of the company,'' he said.
"The bribes were mostly around five million won to a prosecutor each time. But I also gave 10 million won to senior prosecutors. The group spent around one billion won to bribe some 40 prosecutors every year.''
But the group has denied the allegations of a slush fund and the existence of inside documents on lobbying.
Meanwhile, the prosecution said they will take appropriate steps depending on the reliability of the documents and other evidence the CPAJ releases.
