More Europeans for International Theological Commission

Pope Benedict has appointed nine new members, including six Europeans, for the International Theological Commission presided by Cardinal William Levada.

A Vatican communiqué announced the appointment Saturday, ZENIT reports.

The commission consists of a maximum of 30 members, who are named by the Pope for a period of five years.

The newly appointed members are:

- Fr Marco Doldi, moral theology professor of at the Theological Faculty of Northern Italy in Genoa.

- Dominican Fr Gilles Emery, professor of systematic theology at the Theological Faculty of Fribourg, Switzerland.

- Fr Mario Angel Flores, professor of systematic theology at the Theological Faculty of Mexico in Mexico City.

- Salesian Fr Francis Gustilo, professor of theology and spirituality at the Don Bosco Center of Studies of Paranaque, Philippines.

- Fr Javier Prades Lopez, professor of systematic theology at the Theological Faculty of Madrid, Spain.

- Fr Michael Schulz, theology professor at the Faculty of Theology at the University of Bonn, Germany.

- Fr Pierangelo Sequeri, professor of fundamental theology at the Theological Faculty of Northern Italy in Milan.

- Fr Philippe Vallin, professor of systematic theology at the Faculty of Theology of the University of Strasbourg, France.

- Fr Guillermo Zuleta, professor of systematic theology and canon law at the University of Medellin, Colombia.
