Swedish church assembles faith leaders for climate 'manifesto'

The archbishop of the (Lutheran) Church of Sweden has invited a group of opinion makers from different faiths and continents to a climate summit in order to prepare a declaration to present to the December meeting of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, due to be held in Poland.

The interfaith summit is an example of a growing involvement by religious groups in climate issues, and will take place in Uppsala, near Stockholm, on 28 and 29 November.

Buddhist, Christian, Muslim, Jewish and Sikh representatives are expected to attend.
