Catholic Bishop exhorts faithful to avoid unnecessary spending

The Emeritus Bishop of Uige diocese, dom Francisco da Mata Mourisca, on Saturday in Luanda appealed to the faithful of Catholic Church faithful to rationalise spending, so as to prevent future financial crisis.

“It is important to reorganise and utilize the intellect to avoid unnecessary spending (…)”, said the prelate at the opening ceremony of the seminar on “Church Economy”.

“The financial problem affects the whole society, that’s why it is necessary to be able to save and manage, so as to overcome the difficulties (…)” he advised.

Dom Francisco da Mata Mourisca also appealed to the members of the Catholic Church to be spokespersons in the communities and their respective religious missions, as to the care to take in regard to unnecessary spending.

The seminar was promoted by the Christian Association of Managers (ACGD) and the Angola/São Tomé Episcopal Conference (CEAST).
