Gogglebox Ireland producers are looking for priests to join the next series

Image result for Gogglebox IrelandTV3 have confirmed today a second series of the hit show has been commissioned and producers are looking for more opinionated Irish people to join the Tully Twins in Cavan and the Ryans from Limerick in their tv critiquing.

But there is one way to get a competitive edge and last a place - a priest's collar.

Simon Proctor, series sroducer of  the show for Kite Entertainment, said: "Families, friends and partners can all be considered – two, three or four people who are already connected, so long as you are opinionated, funny, likeable, smart and have lots to say about what's on the box.

"Top of our list would be a member of the clergy so, if anyone has an aunt who happens to be a nun who loves her telly or knows a perfect priest, we would love to hear from them!"

The show has become a success story at Ballymount, attracting an average of 375,000 viewers weekly.

The programme, an adaption of the hit UK version, is narrated by Deirdre O'Kane and Rory Cowan.

Bill Malone, TV3 Group Director of Programming, said it represents a multi-million euro investment in Irish television production.

"We are delighted with the reaction to our first series of Gogglebox Ireland. The casting in superb, with the likes of the Tully brothers and Tracie & Anita really capturing Ireland’s love affair with TV, from the moments that make you think to those that make you laugh out loud," he said in a statement.

"Gogglebox Ireland is a testament to the quality of programmes on TV3 and series two is eagerly awaited."
