Coca-Cola Forces Easter Film To Postpone Release

The Italian producers of an Easter film about Jesus Christ set in modern times have postponed its release after incurring the wrath of drinks giant, Coca-Cola.

The company has objected to a scene from the film, Seven Kilometres from Jerusalem, in which Jesus gets into a taxi and rips open a can of Coke.

The film has won fulsome praise from the Pope, who says he enjoys its rich message for Christians, but the scene has angered Coca-Cola Italia.

The Italian arm of the drinks company is clearly worried about any adverse publicity that may come their way by association.

They say Jesus should never be used to advertise their drink and they have written a letter to the film's producers demanding the scene is cut.

The director and producers have argued that changing the film would be costly and time consuming.

But after a week of legal wrangling, they have now been forced to postpone the Good Friday release date.
