For street children there is no "Christmas dinner", no gifts.
They live
marginalized, in the cold, under bridges, they have no family and are
exploited.
Unlike many children who spend these festive days in joy,
they will have to work in order to have something to eat.
Poverty,
hunger makes them easy prey to abuse, violence, crime and prostitution.
These young victims are not only exposed to many risks, but are also
subject to discrimination, are considered criminals or beggars.
They are
forced to live on the streets for several reasons: poverty, domestic
violence, the death of one or both parents, economic migration towards
cities.
They survive rummaging in the garbage to find something to eat,
sometimes begging and stealing.
