BRAZIL - To live the holidays with faith means to fight against child labor

Image result for Archdiocese of SalvadorThe Archdiocese of Salvador, through the Pastoral of Tourism (Pastur), has launched the project "Verano con Fe" (Summer with Faith), which involves the realization of different activities in the various churches of the Old Town in the months of January and February 2017. 

According to father Manoel Filho, coordinator of Pastur, the project brings together new initiatives which are already present in churches. 

"We want to promote new activities during the summer. The goal is to allow the community to understand, especially in the old town center, that summer is the time when there are more tourists and that tourists can have the opportunity of carrying out more activities linked to faith", reads a note of the Archdiocese sent to Fides. 


The programming of the activities revolve around the major festivities of these two months.

The Ministry of Labor recalled that the project of the Archdiocese will be a great help in the fight against child labor. 


"The Church knows how to make society and the people who attend the church aware of the evils of child labor".
