In their message for Christmas, the Bishops of the Region of
Patagonia-Comahue ask to reflect on the violence that the country lives.
"Everything seems infested by violence. We know that violence begets
more violence. Let us not make this mistake! If we want to safeguard the
rights of every person and the equal dignity of all without
discrimination, the real path full of hope to overcome differences and
conflicts will never be violence, but that of respect, dialogue and
fraternal encounter", reads the message, published in all the
dioceses of the region.
"Conflicts arise when one treats the other not as 'someone', as a
person, with the same dignity as himself, but as if he were 'something'.
"Christmas invites us to take the path of non-discrimination and the
acceptance of others, so we strive to seriously fulfill our work and our
duties towards others" concludes the text, signed by the Bishops of the
dioceses of Neuquén, Comodoro Rivadavia, Alto Valle of Rio Negro, San
Carlos de Bariloche, Río Gallegos, Viedma, Prelature of Esquel and
Merlo-Moreno.
