The Vatican press office reported on the meeting on Monday.
As a rule, the Pope and the heads of his dicasteries meet twice a year.
In November 2024, this happened for the last time under Pope Francis, who died on 21 April 2025.
Immediately after his election on 8 May, Leo XIV confirmed the heads of the Roman Curia in office "until further notice".
This is the usual procedure of a new head of the Church with the incumbents, most of whom automatically lose their positions with the death of a pope according to canon law.
Since then, Leo XIV has replaced the head of the episcopal dicastery.
He himself presided over this dicastery until his election as pope. His handling of the top positions of the other 15 dicasteries, which deal with various matters of the universal church, is eagerly awaited.
Leo XIV has already met the current office holders several times in individual audiences.
