The annual Christmas Day dinner at the RDS in Dublin has taken place, with over 200 volunteers providing 550 sit down meals and more than 5,000 take away meals to people in need.
Now in its 99th year, the event is organised by the Knights of St Columbanus, and supported by groups including St Vincent de Paul, Simon Community and Age Action.
Packs containing food, toiletries, soft drinks and household goods were also handed out.
Organisers say demand for take away meals has risen from 1,200 a decade ago to 5,500 this year - highlighting the record levels of homelessness around the country.
