Starting from March 2017, an Archimandrite of the Ecumenical
Patriarchate of Constantinople will celebrate the Divine Liturgy for the
Orthodox faithful living in Ankara once a month, and will do so by
taking advantage of the fraternal hospitality ensured by the local
Latin-Catholic church in the Turkish capital, dedicated to St. Therese
of the Child Jesus.
This is what official sources of the Ecumenical
Patriarchate, consulted by Agenzia Fides reported. So far, the few
Orthodox liturgies celebrated in Ankara were hosted in the premises of
embassies.
From now on, Archimandrite Vissarion will travel to the
Turkish capital at least once a month and celebrate the divine mysteries
for the Orthodox faithful of different countries, resident in Ankara.
Archimandrite Vissarion speaks Russian, and academics, students, workers
and embassy employees from countries with an Orthodox majority can
participate in the divine liturgy celebrated by him.
