Designated Humanist Clare location ruled out

There'll be no designated location in Clare for non-religious funerals for now.

Clare County Council had been asked to identify a specific building or location for humanist services in the county, due to the growing number of people seeking secular services instead of traditional church funerals in Ireland.

But in response, Council management say it's not an issue as local graveyards or funeral homes can be used for such ceremonies, in line with the guidelines of the Humanist Association of Ireland.

Ennis Councillor Brian Meaney agrees, but he hopes for more specific accommodation in future.
