Priest from Palo archdiocese reported missing

The Archdiocese of Palo is seeking assistance from the public in locating one of their priests who has been missing for days.

In a statement shared on Facebook on Wednesday, Dec. 24, the archdiocese said Fr. Edwin "Kutz" Caintoy has been missing since Tuesday, Dec. 23.

He was last spotted at a transport terminal near a mall in Tacloban wearing a white clerical polo shirt and carrying a sling bag. "His current whereabouts remain unknown," the statement read.

"The Archdiocese is coordinating closely with the proper authorities regarding this matter," it added.

Babatngon Police, in a Facebook post on Thursday, Dec. 25, said it's urgently seeking assistance in finding Caintoy.

According to authorities, Caintoy is 55 years old who has a large build, and has a fair complexion.

Babatngon Police said they have "issued a flash alarm to all neighboring police stations and concerned agencies for coordination and possible sighting."

The Palo archdiocese said they are coordinating with the proper authorities to locate him.
