A priest-blogger of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine (OCU) from the Ternopil Region, Oleksii Filiuk, said that the full-scale war in Ukraine is allegedly a consequence of 12 million abortions performed during the independence period.
He said this in an interview with Marichka Dovbenko.
During the conversation, the host clarified the priest's words that the war is a "punishment" for abortions. In response, Filiuk confirmed his position.
"Today, if 12 million aborted children were put on the defensive, they would throw russians away," said the Ternopil clergyman.
The priest also commented on the arguments regarding European countries where the abortion rate is higher, but there is no war. According to him, it is "a matter of time."
He cited a biblical quote and added that the blood of "innocently killed children" allegedly has consequences for the state.
"Today we have a demographic crisis, we have no one to fight, because few children are being born. This is our gene pool," said Filiuk, calling the abortion statistics "horrible."
