This was announced by the Vatican Press Office on Saturday.
Woelki has already been a voting member of three Vatican authorities: for the clergy, for worship and the authority for the promotion of Christian unity, the so-called Ecumenical Ministry.
He is also a member of the influential Administration of the Patrimony of the Holy See (Apsa).
Vatican authorities usually consist of a permanent working group and around 30 members, of which just under a third are cardinals.
The members meet in Rome at regular intervals to consult and make decisions.
