Police are investigating a report of an historic sexual assault connected to a North Belfast church.
The PSNI have confirmed they have received a report of a non-recent sexual assault connected to Whitewell Metropolitian Tabernacle earlier this month and enquries are ongoing.
A PSNI spokesperson said: "On Thursday, 3rd July, police received a report of non-recent sexual assault.
"Enquiries are ongoing."
The force has also said that this week it received a report of "inappropriate behaviour" connected to the church, however no criminal offence was recorded.
A PSNI spokesperson said: "On Monday, 21st July, police received a report of inappropriate behaviour.
"Officers discussed the matter with the reporting party and no criminal offences were recorded."
It comes as the Charity Commission has confirmed that it is currently investigating concerns that were raised to it regarding the church.
