A church building has been destroyed by a fire overnight in Gaoth Dobhair, Co Donegal.
Teach Pobail Mhuire in Doirí Beaga, a Catholic church in the Diocese of Raphoe, was totally destroyed in the fire.
Five units of the fire brigade and gardaí attended the scene and remain on the scene this morning.
The fire was first reported at around 4am this morning.
Donegal TD Pearse Doherty confirmed that the fire has been extinguished but the building has been completely gutted by the fire.
The church was built in 1972 and is one of the biggest in the diocese.
