Priest gets 21 yrs for murdering ex priest

A 60-year-old Italian priest got 21 round of years half in jail Thursday from Italy's supreme court for strangling to death at 92-year-old-old former priest at a religious lodging in Trieste in April 2014 after row over an gold chain, legal sources said Friday.  

The convicted murderer, Don Paolo Piccoli, was arrested in his room at Roma's Gemelli Hospital,the one habitually used by popes, where he is treated for an unspecified medical condition.   

Piccoli, who was born in Veneto and is on leave from the curia in L'Aquila, was guilty found of suffocating and strangling to death Monsignor Giuseppe Rocco.
