‘I’m absolutely appalled’ Arthur Gourounlian admits he was ‘naive’ meeting priest for Blu’s Christening

It will no doubt be a happy day for the family in the end, but Arthur Gourounlian was left very upset after trying to start organising baby Blu’s Christening day.

The Dancing with the Stars judge had been excited as he, his mum Marie and youngest daughter Blu set out for the day to meet with a new priest to get the ball rolling.

However, Arthur admitted he had been ‘naive’ to think organising Blu’s big day would be as simple as it had been when he and his husband Brian Dowling were planning their daughter Blake’s.

In a clip taken in his car after the meeting, Arthur told his followers: ‘Well guys what can I say? My meeting with this particular [priest] was very short-lived.

‘Having that meeting – my blood was boiling and I couldn’t wait to leave that room.’

Arthur didn’t disclose the details of the meeting, but it left him so seething that it’s safe to say Blu’s christening won’t be held there.

‘I’m absolutely appalled and disgusted and it’s 2024,’ the professional dancer continued. ‘Honestly, I feel so angry inside me – you have no idea. So that church that we were choosing… thank you and goodbye.’

Brian and Arthur held their first-born’s christening in Co Kildare, but they’ve since moved up to the capital which is why they’ve decided to hold Blu’s christening more locally.

‘We moved to Dublin so Brian and I, we thought, “You know what, we’re here – we might do it in Dublin, why not?”,’ Arthur explained. ‘Even though Father Joe was absolutely incredible when he christened Blake. It was stunning from beginning to end.’

‘So we thought, “Let’s have a meeting at the church, let’s see what will happen”. I filled out the form but obviously I was very naive to think that it’s going to be as good as the first time. And yeah… I was very naive thinking it was going to be as easy as the first time,’ Arthur said, disheartened.

On a more positive note, he concluded: ‘But I guess you just have to pick yourself up, get out there and find another way. We’ll do it. Blu will be christened. It’s not about Brian and I. It’s about Blu. That’s all I can say.’
