SHAMED Cardinal Keith O’Brien yesterday resurfaced in Scotland for the first time since his gay sex scandal.
The 75-year-old was spotted removing boxes from his home in Morningside, Edinburgh. He’s moved into a disused church house in Dunbar, East Lothian.
O’Brien – formerly Scotland’s leading Catholic – headed for England at the height of the scandal two months ago.
He resigned as cardinal after four priests and former priests made sex claims against him.
Yesterday, O’Brien said he planned to relax and enjoy his retirement.
He added: “My own home is in the north of Ireland but all my friends are in Scotland. I’ve been coming down here for some years as a retreat. It’s a nice little place.”
