Until the eleventh hour, uncertainty hung over the wedding venue, Ballykisteen Hotel & Golf Resort at Limerick Junction, due to legal proceedings by Ulster Bank on Wednesday.

Stacy and Jamie were toasting Mr Justice Michael White who gave the go-ahead for the hotel to continue in business, appointing a provisional liquidator nominated by the bank.

The couple, both from Herbertstown, were joined by 190 guests at Ballykisteen for the wedding feast prepared by the hotel’s head chef, Adrian Usher.

Stacy said: “We had a few nervous days and tears of concern. But the hotel staff handled it brilliantly and helped ease our nerves. Emma Walsh, from the hotel contacted us yesterday evening with the good news and we opened the first bottles of champagne last night.”

Jamie said hotel manager, David Lawlor, helped get them through a nervous few days.

“We are looking forward now to our honeymoon in Cyprus where we will spend a fortnight.”

The wedding ceremony took place at the Sacred Heart Church in Herbertstown and Fr Sean Harmon officiated.

Speaking yesterday evening, David Lawlor, manager of Ballykisteen Hotel & Golf Resort, said: “It was great to be able to greet Stacy and Jamie and we are delighted to be open under the Prem Group. We have up to 80 employed and have 75 weddings booked over the coming months. And this Friday we have a big golf classic. The future looks very good indeed and Stacy and Jamie and their guests are having a ball.”
