The Anglican cleric known as the "vicar of Baghdad" has announced he is to scale back his activities due to ill health.
Canon Andrew White, who suffers from Multiple Sclerosis, told supporters that he would have to cut down on engagements outside Iraq, many of which aim to raise funds for the outreach of his Anglican church in Baghdad.
He wrote: "There are now major restrictions on my mobility and cognitive function. I cannot do what I once did and I have got to seriously curtail my non-Iraq and British engagements."
He added: "I hate letting people down, but I have got to be aware of my own limitations and leave the funding to the Almighty."
