Another lawsuit filed alleging abuse by Diocese of Kansas City priest

Another lawsuit has been filed alleging a priest for the Catholic Diocese of Kansas City-St. Joseph abused a child.

The suit claims Father Mark Honhart sexually abused a boy years ago.

This is the second suit brought against this priest in Kansas City.

The first was filed in March of this year.

The victim, who is not named, said the abuse happened when he was sent to Honhart for counseling while having family problems.

The advocate group SNAP, Survivor's Network of those Abused by Priests, says this happens all too often in the Catholic Church.

"When a young child is abused, they don't know what's right and what's wrong. They know the person they respect and trust has hurt them," said Barbara Dorris, the SNAP outreach director.

Honhart was recently removed from a church in Pennsylvania after the first allegations surfaced.
