Pope Leo XIV receives in audience the future prefect of the Dicastery for Communication

Pope Leo XIV received María Montserrat Alvarado, the designated prefect of the Dicasterio for Communication, in audience this Monday, August 3, according to the Holy See Press Office in its daily bulletin of audiences.

Alvarado was appointed by the Pontiff on June 2 and will officially assume the position on November 1, when she will take charge of the dicastery responsible for coordinating the institutional communication of the Holy See.

The audience takes place less than three months before her installation and is part of the meetings the Holy Father holds with the heads of the various bodies of the Roman Curia.

María Montserrat Alvarado will be responsible for succeeding in the prefecture of the Dicasterio for Communication upon completion of the transition process planned after her appointment by Leo XIV.
