The head of the church court will no longer use the religious priest, the spokesman of the diocese of Münster, Stephan Kronenburg, told the Catholic News Agency (KNA) on Wednesday.
The man has been working at the Office of Münster since 2020, which is also responsible for the Diocese of Essen.
The church court decides above all on the question of whether or not a Catholic marriage is valid.
Last November, the online page of the priest group "Communio veritatis" (Community of Truth) published a commentary by the man.
Under the heading "From the necessary resistance" he spread homophobic and queer-hostile prejudices, for example that gays had increased mental and physical illnesses.
In addition, he writes of alleged "gay subcultures" that could be found at seminaries.
Diocese goes at a distance
This and other texts of the author would reflect purely private views, emphasized Kronenburg.
"They contradict the content and also in terms of language in many cases and fundamentally the views of the management of the diocese of Münster."
The priest is no longer appointed as a church judge. He has not yet had a pastoral care order in the diocese and will not receive it in the future.
The website of "Communio veritatis" is responsible for a priest of the Archdiocese of Paderborn, who was relieved of the service as pastor in 2022. He had previously spread conspiracy narratives on the site.
