Local woman moves into treehouse to raise funds for parish church

Through major fundraising efforts the community have raised €1.1 million to date for the restoration of Ballyoisin Church and it’s hoped that they can get much closer to final €400k that’s needed.

A Co Monaghan woman has moved into a treehouse for 48 hours in an effort to raise much needed funds for her community.

Gwen Corrigan is on a mission to raise as much funds as possible for the restoration of Ballyoisin Church.

Not only is Gwen living 26 feet above the ground at St Mellans GAA grounds but she is dressed as a bird for the duration of her stay.

The Truagh native is roughing it out dressed as a bird living in the treehouse which is located along the N2 until 3pm on Sunday.

This isn’t the first time the local woman took on this novel idea. She did it in 1998 to raise money for Knockconan National School.
