This year's Christmas stamp shows an excerpt of the "Christmas window" of the Abbey Church of St Mauritius in Tholey in Saarland.
The abbey is considered the oldest monastery in Germany.
The window was designed, together with 28 windows, by the German-Afghan artist Mahbuba Maqsoodi, the Federal Ministry of Finance announded on Thursday, which the brand publishes every year.
In addition to Maqsoodi, Gerhard Richter has also designed three windows in the abbey church.
The special stamp has a value of 85 cents.
In addition, there are 40 cents, which flow into non-profit projects of the Federal Working Group on Free Welfare.
According to the Ministry, this brings together around ten million euros every year.
The Christmas stamp has been available since the beginning of November.
On Monday, the Ministry of Finance will officially present it in Berlin together with a 25-euro collector coin made of fine silver, dedicated to the Advent wreath.
