Media priest Thomas Rosica charged with sex abuse

Former Vatican media personality Father Thomas Rosica has been charged with sexually assaulting a Canadian priest more than 20 years ago, and his priestly duties have been suspended as the lawsuit proceeds through the courts.

Rosica rose to prominence overseeing media operations during Pope St. John Paul II’s visit to Canada for World Youth Day 2002.

He founded Salt+Light Television in 2003 and was appointed a consulter to the Pontifical Council for Social Communication in 2009.

Fr. Rosica has denied any “improper conduct.”
