Drug-related death of parish priest in Flanders rocks Britain

On Thursday night, a 67-year-old pastor of British origin was found dead in the pastor's home in Heide-Kalmthout in the Belgian province of Antwerp near the Dutch border.

Traces of ecstasy were found on the victim's body.

The 60-year-old priest B. from Heide-Kalmthout notified the emergency services.

But he is possibly involved in the facts.

Indeed, police took him in for questioning, and decided to arrest him pending the autopsy. The 67-year-old British priest was a friend of the 60-year-old Belgian priest.

He was visiting the Belgian when he was suddenly found dead at night, with narcotics in his blood.

The prosecutor's office has requisitioned an investigating judge for trafficking in narcotics resulting in death.

It is currently unclear exactly what took place between the two clergymen in the parsonage and how the British priest effectively met his end.
