Due to the severe economic crisis that continues to affect Venezuela, there is a lack of food and basic products in the Country.
The inflation index indicated by the Central Bank in 2015 is 180.9%.
From a survey, carried out by the Central de Venezuela, Católica Andrés
Bello and Simón Bolivar universities, it emerges that 82% of households
in the Country lives in poverty, 52% in extreme poverty, and only 18% of
households are not poor.
The study, entitled Encuesta sobre Condiciones
de Vida en Venezuela, was conducted on 6,500 households in 2016.
From
2014 to 2016, it recorded a brutal change in the quality of life of
Venezuelans, the rate poverty went from 48% to 82%.
