THE Catholic Church has
brought together a coalition of 28 civil society organisations engaged
in anti-corruption activities to combat the scourge of corruption in the
country.
The church which brought the civil society groups together under its
Catholic Caritas Foundation of Nigeria, said that the solution to the
ravaging disease of corruption in the country was collaborative efforts
among many organisations in the country.
Flagging off the campaign in Calabar, Cross River State, yesterday,
Bishop Joseph Ekeuwem, the Catholic Archbishop of Calabar Diocese, said
that corruption was Nigeria’s biggest challenge and manifest in
virtually every aspect of life in the country, therefore, urgent
measures must be taken to build institutions to combat the scourge.
