Catholics in the Archdiocese of Chicago have welcomed Amoris Laetitia
as an “authentic and inspired expression of the Spirit of the
Magisterium of the Church,” Archbishop Blase Cupich wrote in a column in
the October 27 edition of L’Osservatore Romano.
The apostolic exhortation, he said, has encouraged priests to see
themselves as fathers of parish families and the archdiocese as a whole
to undertake a renewed commitment to its “social mission to be salt,
light. and leaven,” thus “preparing the world for the Kingdom of God.”
