The Austrian bishops have announced their opposition to a government
emergency order that will limit asylum claims once 37,500 refugees have
arrived in the nation.“The maintenance of public order and the protection of Austria’s internal security” are not at risk, the bishops said in a statement.
The bishops also warned that the government’s action will encourage other EU nations to limit the number of refugees.
