The bishops will vote on a strategic plan for 2017-20, which will seek to further the conference’s current leading priorities: evangelization, family and marriage, human life and dignity, vocations and ongoing formation, and religious freedom.
The bishops will also hear a report from the USCCB Task Force to Promote Peace in Our Communities and elect a new president, vice president, and five committee chairmen.
Cardinal Daniel DiNardo, the conference’s current vice president, is the leading candidate to succeed Archbishop Joseph Kurtz as president.
