The Holy See Press Office has announced that the next Synod of
Bishops will be devoted to “youth, faith, and vocational discernment.”
The synod, which will take place in October 2018, will be the 15th
Ordinary General Assembly of the Synod of Bishops since Blessed Paul
VI’s establishment of the institution in 1965.
The 14th Ordinary General Assembly, which took place in 2015, was
devoted to the vocation and mission of the family in the Church and in
the contemporary world, and resulted in Pope Francis’s apostolic
exhortation Amoris Laetitia.
