Former priest David Rapson has
been jailed for 13 years for sexually abusing eight boys at a Victorian
Catholic boarding school between the mid 1970s and 1990, reports The Age.
Rapson, 60, will spend a minimum 10 years behind bars after he was
found guilty of five charges of rape and eight counts of indecent
assault by a County Court jury in August.
Across two stints as a teacher
and deputy principal at two of the school's campuses, Rapson abused
boys as young as 12, specifically targeting some victims by luring them
to his room with the offer of smoking cigarettes, drinking alcohol and
playing computer games.
He gave some of his victims drug-laced Milo or lemonade before
abusing them. Judge Liz Gaynor described Rapson's actions as callous and
predatory.
