Pope Benedict XVI has nominated Polish priest Tadeusz Wojda of the Society of Catholic Apostolate (S.C.A.) as Under-Secretary of the Congregation for the evangelisation of the Peoples. Up until now the priest was Head of Office of the Congregation. The news was announced today by the secretary of the missionary dicastery, Mgr. Savio Hon Tai Fai, to officials of the congregation, priests, clerics and nuns who work in Propaganda Fide and in the international secretariats of the Pontifical Mission Societies (POM) gathered for the Angelus prayer.
Fr. Wojda who has worked for the Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples for a number of years succeeds the Under- Secretary Fr. Massimo Cenci, PIME, who died suddenly on 11 May.
