An important public information meeting is to be held at St. Clare's Hall in Manorhamilton on Wednesday regarding the re-organisation of four parishes in North Leitrim.
Regarding the information meeting, a statement in all recent Cloonclare/Killasnett newsletters on Sunday stated, “there is going to be an information evening for our cluster of parishes on Wednesday 16th September at 8pm in St Clare’s Hall (Future Cast), Carrick Road, Manorhamilton.
“This involves four parishes – Cloonclare/Killasnett, Kinlough, Glenfarne and Ballaghameehan – in which there are 13 Church areas and at present five priests. We need to think about the future and plan ahead.
“The life and mission of each parish belong to the whole faith community and each person has gifts that can help our parish grow and thrive into the future. This very important information evening will explore the renewal of parish life, the role of the Pastoral Council and other ways in which parishioners can become involved.
“We are in a time of rapid change. Priests are getting fewer. Some Parishes will have no resident Priest. How can our Parish continue to grow, become more welcoming and respond to new needs? How can we build a more vibrant and active faith community?” the Cloonclare/Killasnett newsletter statement asked in conclusion.
