Croatia: New Chapel for the Society of Saint Pius X in Zagreb

A new chapel was inaugurated on September 7 in Zagreb, the capital of Croatia. More than 200 faithful attended the two Sunday Masses.

The Society of Saint Pius X (SSPX) currently serves five chapels in the country, as well as two in neighboring Slovenia.

Following the purchase in February 2025 of a house intended to become the future priory of Zagreb, the project to build a chapel there was implemented.

The work lasted six months and, to the great joy of the faithful, the premises were fittingly decorated for the Solemnity of St. Pius X.

The remaining work is a parking lot, some annexes, and some decorations, which should be completed by All Saints' Day, in preparation for the solemn blessing by the District Superior of Austria, Fr. Johannes Regele.

This spiritual center will now host two Masses every Sunday in a dignified and sacred atmosphere, while the adjacent buildings of the future priory can permanently accommodate priests called upon to meet the growing needs of the apostolate in Croatia and Slovenia.

This summer, for example, a camp was organized for some 20 Croatian and Slovenian children.
