Medical state of Archbishop of Albania remains critical

The health condition of Archbishop Anastasios of Albania remains critical, according to the latest medical bulletin from Evangelismos Hospital.

Archbishop Anastasios of Albania was hospitalized in Tirana on December 30 after contracting a virus. His health condition worsened, and on January 3, it was deemed necessary to transfer him to Athens.

On Sunday, Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis visited Evangelismos Hospital, where Archbishop Anastasios of Albania is currently hospitalized. 

He was briefed on the Archbishop’s health condition by Professor Anastasia Kotanidou, a specialist in Pulmonology and Intensive Care.

Archbishop Ieronymos of Athens and all Greece visited Archbishop Anastasios on Saturday to wish him a speedy recovery.

The two Primates of the Churches of Albania and Greece had a brief conversation. Following this, Archbishop Ieronymos received an update on Archbishop Anastasios’s health condition from Professor Kotanidou.

On Monday morning, the Minister of Education and Religious Affairs, Kyriakos Pierrakakis, paid a visit to Archbishop Anastasios.

On Monday afternoon, the President of SYRIZA-PA, Sokratis Famellos, visited Evangelismos Hospital to receive updates on the health condition of Archbishop Anastasios of Tirana.

“The purpose of our visit was to receive updates on the Archbishop’s health, express our love, and share our hope for his recovery. We also wanted to extend our support to the medical and healthcare staff,” emphasized the President of SYRIZA-PA, who took the opportunity to engage with hospital employees during the visit.

Sokratis Famellos, accompanied by Central Committee member Fotini Karystinaki, received a briefing on Archbishop Anastasios’s condition from Professor Anastasia Kotanidou, Surgery Director Stylianos Kapiris, and Professor Charalambos Roussos.
