Freedom Fighter Francis In Tuam Archdiocese(?)

The Archbishop of Tuam, Francis Duffy, was recently in receipt of criticism on the Archdiocesan Facebook page, as a direct result of a discussion to be held at the end of this month entitled 'Faith In A Faithless World' e.g. 'Why are you giving a platform to someone that has been a member of the Irish Freedom Party? A party with known strong anti-immigrant policies.'

The panel consists of Senator Ronan Mullen, MMA fighter Ciarán Clarke, humanitarian Clodagh Gallagher, and political correspondent for Gript Media, Ben Scallan, the latters name (i.e. Scallan) is the name which raised the question of the Archbishop as outlined above.

Lest it be forgotton, Scallan was a candidate in the 2020 General Election in Dublin Bay South, for the Irish Freedom Party, but it is to be hoped that it is in his capacity of political correspondent that has resulted in him being on the ticket for this event.

Gript, it can be claimed, is a traditional, right-wing conservative Catholic media outlet, and no doubt ties in well with the same conservative outlook of the Irish Freedom party, and more specifically so when it comes to immigration.

Is Archbishop Duffy, via his ongoing silence, giving his imprimatur to Scallan et al in relation to this event?
