Pope Francis said at
his weekly general audience on Wednesday that it was an
injustice that many children are illiterate in this day and age."It's impossible to understand how, in a world in which technical and scientific progress have reached so high, there are still illiterate children," he said.
"Many children suffer from the lack of education. It is a great injustice that undermines the dignity of the person. Without education one easily becomes prey to exploitation and various forms of social disadvantage".
