The first Dominican chapel since the Reformation is to open in Edinburgh next week.
The £1 million chapel is for the Catholic Chaplaincy at Edinburgh University, which is run by the Order of Preachers.
On Wednesday, the Feast of the Assumption, Cardinal Keith O'Brien will bless the chapel and dedicate the altar stone.
Up until now Mass has been said in a converted drawing room on the first floor of the building.
This has capacity for 90 people but due to increasing numbers the new chapel seats 140.
Around £250,000 was raised for the project from the congregation with rest of the money coming from the British province of Dominicans.
