THERE are only a few thousand tickets left for the grand finale of the International Eucharistic Congress in Dublin.
More than 20,000 people have already booked their place at the event in the RDS next month.
However, while there remains plenty of capacity for the weekday gatherings, space is now extremely limited for the closing Mass or 'Statio Orbis' in Croke Park.
The closing ceremony on June 17 is expected to be full to its 80,000 capacity and the last tranche of tickets -- for the upper Cusack and Hogan stands -- have now been released.
News of the ticket sales comes as a series of photographs from the Eucharistic Congress in Dublin in 1932, unseen for decades, are published.
The black and white images, many of which include Eamon De Valera, show the capital city and crowds of pilgrims parading through O'Connell St and the Phoenix Park.
Entry to the full seven-day programme at the RDS costs €105, with a seat at Croke Park costing an additional €10. Daily tickets are €35.
Tickets can be purchased at www.tickets.ie or in selected Centra and SuperValu stores.
RDS admission can be obtained at the entrance gates.
