A brand new Mercedes Popemobile painted in “Vatican Mystic White” has been unveiled minus bullet proof glass. Custom made by Daimler, the vehicle is described as an "open-top Mercedes-Benz G-Class” and is outfitted with a folding windscreen and hand rails.
The cabin is white and is accessed by steps lined in red at the rear.
It was designed for the Pope so he could give is weekly Wednesday address to the public in St Peter’s Square.
