Significant damage caused to Ballyjamesduff church following break-ins

Investigations are underway following significant damage which has been caused to the church of Ireland building in Ballyjamesduff.

The church located in the Grove area of the town was broken into several times over the past week.

A picture of inside the church shows how the building was ransacked during these incidents.

In a social media post by Kildrumferton Group of Parishes today they say while we're understandably saddened by what has happened and the damage caused, we're also praying for those responsible.

The post went on to say that we remain committed to this beautiful building being a place of welcome, prayer and love.

Gardaí say investigations are ongoing, after receiving reports of criminal damage to a building at The Grove, Ballyjamesduff, Co Cavan, shortly before 5:40pm on 28th August 2026 and a separate incident sometime between 2:30pm and 3:00pm on 30th August 2026.
