The first highest-ranking teaching letter of Pope Leo XIV is apparently in the last phase of revision.
As the newspaper "La Repubblica" reported on Saturday, the publication of the encyclical after Easter is expected.
The working title is "Magnifica humanitas" (Great humanity), the most important topic is a comprehensive warning of possible negative consequences of artificial intelligence (AI).
In particular, it will deal with the consequences for the labour market and human relations.
Already in October, the portal "Silere non possum" had speculated about the title and theme of the first encyclical of Leo XIV and had assumed similar assumptions.
However, Vatican observers expected an earlier release date at the time.
Encyclicals are binding papal teachings for the entire Catholic universal Church.
